LATCH Evaluations Check for Hardware That Makes Sense

One thing that should be considered when it comes to every aspect of the vehicle including attaching a child seat is hardware that is actually easy to make sense of. It is not a good thing to have hardware that is confusing. This is one of the factors that are tested in the LATCH evaluation.

One of the ways that the hardware can be confusing is if one tether is coupled with another hardware that looks a lot like it. In order to make it less confusing, the hardware has to be made to stand apart with a label that gives it a contrast.

Another factor that is worth testing is the lower anchors. If they are easy to access, then this is a good sign for the vehicle. The best case scenario is having anchors that are not deep and obscured. That way, connecting the child seat would be easy.
