Car Theft Prevention

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 2016 was a stellar year for car thieves. More than 750,000 vehicles were stolen in the United States. The folks at Mossy Alfa Romeo believe the best way to prevent your car from becoming a statistic is to take preventative actions. Don't make it easy for a thief to take your car. Practice these good-sense steps:

  • Never leave your keys in a parked car.
  • Always roll up the windows and lock the doors when leaving your car.
  • Park in well-lit areas.
  • Avoid leaving valuable items in your car where they can be seen.
  • Install anti-theft devices, such as alarm systems and immobilization devices that prevent the car from moving when hot-wired.
  • Install a vehicle recovery system that improves the abysmal odds that if your car is stolen, the police can locate it.

Most of us cannot live without our cars. Make sure yours stays parked where you leave it by practicing these few common sense steps.
